Flight36 is always looking for volunteers, and right now there is a great need for Christian men to become mentors and impact the lives of fatherless boys..
Thinking about volunteering, but wondering what you have to offer? A LOT!
Your time and attention is worth more to the boys than you may realize. Being a Mentor in our program is about spending quality time with the boys while enjoying all sorts of activities together.
Flight36 engages in outdoor activities such as playing sports, attending baseball games, building model rockets, fishing, biking and going to the beach, just to name a few of those activities.
The boys also learn to give back to God in love and gratitude through regular service projects and raising support for ministries within their home church. We serve alongside other ministries to bless single moms, orphans and the elderly in our community.
Flight36 would not be complete without the discipleship aspect of the program. During the time the boys are enrolled in our program, they go through a Biblical training program. We focus on foundational topics such as God's love, being good stewards, forgiveness and understanding our purpose in life.
Flight36 has taken drastic steps to build a successful mentor program where safety is a priority. We accomplish this goal by mentoring the boys in a group setting. Each boy enrolled in the program is provided with over 40 opportunities each year to participate in the events, group meetings, Bible studies and community service projects hosted by the Flight36 Staff and our sponsors.
Flight36 wants to make it simple for you to join our team. We have developed a five-step process that will guide you through the steps of enrollment.
Step 1: Review the Flight36 website.
Step 2: Contact the area chapter leader and request a "Mentor Application".
Step 3: Interview with your local chapter leaders of Flight36 to review policies and proceedures.
Step 4: Complete final enrollment forms and submit to chapter leaders.
Step 5: Attend an 4-hour "Basic Training" orientation class. (Held online or at the Flight Center in Florida).
